Molochite -Suspension Blend - (200Mesh 75micron) (Product will be shipped in a heat sealed plastic bag.)
Molochite -200 is a suspension modified calcined clay used in the production of ceramic shells for hot metal casting. This is the flour grade of the Molochites used for the primary slurry usually with Primecote or Wexcoat Binder.
When mixed if stirred weekly to fortnightly it should stay in suspension.
Calcined clays are produced by holding the material at 15000C which makes it very temperature stable. It also is safer to use than silica based refractories.
This is a much cheaper substitute than Zircon or Chromite heavy sands and suitable for all non ferrous metals
Molochite is the standard “back-up” refractory material used in the production of investment casting shell moulds. Freedom from contamination makesMolochite an ideal filler for foundry coatings in iron, steel and aluminum castings.
The key benefits which Molochite offers to the Investment Casting Industry may be summarized as follows:
Unparalleled consistency of composition
Freedom from contamination
Consistency of size gradings
Compatibility with binders
Angular grain shape
Low dust content stuccos
Wide choice of gradings
200mesh will stay in suspension.
